Introduction

Remote sensing is a great source of data for the analysis geographical phenomena. Remote sensing techniques are widely used in multiple disciplines and skills in the analysis of such data in GIS are prized in industry. On these pages, I am making available much of the practical components of a undergraduate Geography course I developed at the University of West Indies, Remote Sensing & GIS. In this course, open-source methods are used – in particular QGIS software and various plugins – along with freely-available remote sensing imagery. I hope you find these instructions useful!
